Creating Expressions

This next post is admittedly not much different from the last as I continued to work on the endless stream of dogs that I was instructed to draw. I think the lesson book kept me on the dogs for proper development. The same subject (dog) had a different look each time. I guess that was the point. Same subject/different face/different expression. I posted the photos below.
In reflection: The sketching has been great so far. Not every day has been fun, but it has been worth it. It’s been a good lesson for me personally. Nothing is gained by simply pursuing it when I am motivated. I made it more of a conscientious effort to not wait until I feel up to it. Sometimes it’s been taken a moment to realize and stop, move, make time, pick up the pencil, and draw- even if it felt like a pain in the butt.
It’s a practice.
Also, if you’ve visited before you’ll see the quality of the images has altered some. Previous photos were a bit more faded and yellow. It sketches were done in pencil and snapped by my cell phone under less than perfect white light. I decided to start inking over my sketches (a new practice as well) and to take a higher contrast photo (same cell phone) to post. I think it just looks a little bit better instead of that yuck I felt like I was putting up before. Hope you think it’s better. Thanks for visiting!
